New Features
Brand new additions to our platform for all members.
Vehicle Telemetry
Vehicle "Fleet" Telemetry is a new system introduced by Tesla which promises deeper vehicle integrations, entirely eliminates vehicle drain from third-party services, and a trove of other benefits.
While issues remain on Tesla's end which may result in erroneous vehicle data or broken sessions, we're required to switch to this new system.
We're hopeful that Tesla will prioritize these issues and continue to work with developers to ensure the best possible experiences for our members.
As of February 1st, vehicles must have a virtual key added to allow for continuous vehicle data updates. This ensures that our platform can securely receive data directly from your vehicle.
Multiple Tesla Accounts
You can now connect and manage multiple Tesla Accounts on one Teslascope account via the redesigned account management page. You can also review all vehicles, and make rapid changes such as renaming all in one place.
Onboarding and Vehicle Selection
We've completely overhauled Tesla Account onboarding to no longer process every single vehicle present on a Tesla Account. Now, when you connect your Tesla Account, you'll be able to specifically decide which vehicles you'd like to use on our platform.
If you take delivery of a new vehicle, or wish to add other existing vehicles, you can now check for new vehicles via the Tesla Account page and select them.
New Subscriptions
To better ensure our continued sustainability and cover Tesla's new Fleet API costs, we've transitioned to a new "per vehicle" subscription system, with a slight cost increase ($3.00 -> $3.99).
Each vehicle can be individually upgraded or downgraded via the Membership page.
New Developer APIs
We've quadrupled our existing APIs, with the aim of providing full feature and data parity this year. That means that you will be able to access almost every aspect of our platform externally if desired.
Our new APIs include:
- Vehicle Trips
- Vehicle Trip (Singular)
- Vehicle Trip (Add Item)
- Vehicle Trip (Remove Item)
- Vehicle Locations
- Create Location
- Update Location
- Remove Location
- Activate Vehicle
- Deactivate Vehicle
- Update Vehicle Name
- Tesla Accounts
- Tesla Account (Vehicles)
Vehicle-Related Changes
We redesigned almost every vehicle-related page from the ground up, to include community-requested improvements, and quality-of-life changes.
Quick Add/Remove To Trips
You can now quickly add or remove driving and charging sessions from trips, while on any sessions list.
New Locations
Creating locations is easier than ever with a new three-step process that automatically locates coordinates when searching.
Settings Cleanup
Vehicle settings have been completely overhauled and are now organized by general options, customization-focused changes, and Advanced.
The following settings have been removed or relocated.
- Primary Vehicle, which is now handled entirely via the top dropdown vehicle switch menu.
- Safety Score, which is no longer functional due to Fleet API changes.
- Cost Calculations, is now always on and automated.
- Free Supercharging, is now automated.
- Update Configuration, is now automated and can be manually updated by request.
- Billing Period (Start Day), is now accessible on the Electricity Usage page.
- Software Logging, as Early Access Program vehicles can no longer connect to third-party platforms.
The following settings are no longer accessible following the transition to Fleet Telemetry.
- Quiet Mode, has been renamed to Vehicle Activity.
- Scope Mode
- Recent Polling Duration
- Idle Polling Duration
Zzz..
We've reworked our backend to prevent any manner of interacting with your vehicles that could result in waking it up. This has some cons, but is necessary due to Tesla's Fleet API changes.
Service Mode
Historically, Teslascope would go "hands off" when it detected that your vehicle was in Service Mode. Following Fleet API changes, we can now safely interact with and continue recording data in some circumstances when service mode is enabled on your vehicle.
Software-Related Changes
We heard you and listened. Many aspects of our software portions of the service have been revisited.
New Update History Filters
We've finally added Cybertruck as a valid option for filtering through our software update history. You can also select and sort by country (in addition to vehicle, if you desire)!
New Pending Metrics
When viewing an individual software update, you can now see the specific models and their Autopilot hardware revisions that are pending installation.
Installs Over Time
By popular demand, we've added a chart that shows the number of installs over time on the individual software update page.
Detailed Software API
Our existing software APIs now include a ton of new information, such as a breakdown of pending installs by model and Autopilot hardware. Additionally, we've added our daily rollout, and full vehicle changes (record of updates) within the API response. This should allow developers to access all of our software data externally at a whim.
Service Improvements
General changes and improvements to improve experiences, and make the service that much easier to use on all devices.
Dark Mode (For All)
Dark Mode no longer requires a premium membership, and is available even when browsing the service as a guest!
The toggle has been moved to the footer for easier accessibility.
Redesigned Authentication
Our login and sign up pages have been redesigned to better support all types of devices. No more hurting your neck on ultra-wide monitors.
Settings Redesign
The Preferences, Security, and Integrations pages have been completely redesigned to look more like 2025.
Other
Bugs, so many bugs fixed! Other changes can also be found here.
Unorganized Changes and Improvements
- Safety Score related pages and leaderboards have been removed, as Tesla has not provided access to developers.
- Siri Shortcuts are now deprecated following Tesla's official shortcuts introduced last year. Existing shortcuts will continue to function indefinitely.
- Our Developer APIs have been restructured and cleaned up.
- Switched to new Fleet API auth subdomain, which allows for increased rate limits.
- Improved onboarding for new accounts adding vehicles for the first time.
- Optimized how Tesla Account existence checks are handled to be more performant.
- Updated our Thank You page with a modern design, added new listings, and improved functionality on mobile and tablet devices.
Bug Fixes
- Resolved server errors when erroneous drive efficiency values are detected.
- Resolved server errors in some cases when accessing a group as a guest.
