Your search for "Data" returned 8 questions.

If your vehicle is asleep when you first sign up and connect your Tesla account, we will wait until it has been woken up by you to finalize the vehicle setup process.

We are additionally unable to request data from your vehicle if its status returns as "offline". This typically occurs if your vehicle is somewhere with a weak signal such as a parking garage or underground parking.

Rest assured, we will continue attempting the setup process every minute until successful.

When you add a new vehicle, we may default to HW3.0 if we are unable to automatically determine what HW version is installed in your vehicle based on limited information provided by Tesla.

If this continues to be incorrect after 24 hours, you can reach out to us at any time to refresh this value with new data from Tesla.

You can remove your vehicles at any time by navigating to its vehicle settings page and then selecting "Begin Process" under Vehicle Removal.

Please note, once removed, all associated data cannot be restored.

Alternatively, you can disconnect your Tesla Account from Teslascope at any time which will leave the vehicle's data in a frozen state and disable all interactions and polling, in case you want to take a break from our service, but retain your historical data.

We recommend adjusting the "Recent Polling Frequency" from 10 minutes (default) to a higher duration to ensure all activity is recorded.

This can often occur if you utilize certain vehicle features such as Scheduled Climate Controls, Departure, or if you often idle in your vehicle prior to beginning your drive.

You can disconnect your account via the Tesla Account page at any time.

Please note, all vehicles under the account will no longer update with new information as vehicle data requests will no longer succeed without this connection.

Teslascope takes advantage of Amazon's AWS (Amazon Web Services) platform to allow us to securely manage our services. We use the following to accomplish this:

  • Requiring all employees to use two-factor authentication. Read more.
  • Implementing Amazon's "Inspector", which scans ours network to identify vulnerabilities, exploits, as well as ensuring we maintain best practices. Read more.
  • Storing all of Teslascope's data in RDS / Aurora. Read more.

Additionally, Teslascope uses Cloudflare's various tools to provide a more efficient and safe experience for all visitors and our members.

We ensure that all potentially sensitive data is only accessible by the intended vehicle owner and protect against other malicious access attempts.

While we'd be sad to see you go, you may deactivate your account at any time via Account Settings.

You must restore your account within thirty days to prevent it from becoming locked.

Data cannot be restored once locked and an option to permanently delete your account and its associated data is given. You may also request immediate deletion of your account and its associated data via email (see sidebar) once deactivated.

Starting in February 2025, we began the transition to a new subscription system that is per-vehicle, instead of per-account. This change was mandatory to cover the new fees associated with Tesla's Fleet APIs, which charges developers for data streamed from vehicles, in addition to other expenses.

Due to these new Tesla fees, we've increased our monthly subscription cost from $3.00 (for an entire account), to $3.99 per vehicle. For ~89% of accounts, the monthly cost should only increase by $0.99. This is the first that we've increased our costs since we launched in 2019.

On February 28th, we plan to automatically switch over all accounts that have not manually switched over prior to this date. For the first payment following the transition, you may see an odd payment amount anywhere between $2.05 and $5.31. This is due to how our payment processor, Stripe, handles subscription "tier" upgrades. While confusing, this cost will only occur for the first month and will reflect our normal advertised cost immediately after.

As always, please feel free to reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions or need assistance.
