Why was my subscription cost more than expected?
Starting in February 2025, we began the transition to a new subscription system that is per-vehicle, instead of per-account. This change was mandatory to cover the new fees associated with Tesla's Fleet APIs, which charges developers for data streamed from vehicles, in addition to other expenses.
Due to these new Tesla fees, we've increased our monthly subscription cost from $3.00 monthly and $30.00 annually (for an entire account), to $3.99 monthly and $39.99 annually per vehicle. This is the first that we've increased our costs since we launched in 2019.
On February 28th, we plan to automatically switch over all accounts that have not manually switched over prior to this date. For the first payment following the transition, you may see an odd total charge due to proration. This is due to how our payment processor, Stripe, handles subscription "tier" upgrades. While confusing, this cost will only occur for the first renewal and will reflect our normal advertised cost immediately after.
